About Veronica Coulston
I am originally from Prague, Czech republic but have lived in the U.K, Austria and Switzerland and have visited many other European countries. Right now I have been living in the United states for 6 years.
Apart from some good tips and advice from my artist mother, I am largely self taught and have not started painting until a few months ago. I have always loved art and I painted my first portrait (of my momma) when I was 5 years old. She said it was "very good" for my age. But I have never had the time and opportunity to devote myself to my passion until lately. Portraits are my favorite so far, I love faces and the expressions in them. I also like painting animals, since I love those too. Right now I am trying out all sorts, including landscapes, still life and nudes. Even though I don't really paint in that style yet, I love the Impressionist masters and their way of painting. I love Renoir's portraits and would like to eventually try an impressionistic portrait myself. Maybe a self portrait......Right now I am too afraid to try that style with commissions, but really I would like to go crazy, and doing that with a self portrait won't run the risk of offending anyone!
